Sometimes it is nice to have a whole weekend to oneself. No jobs, no obligations to be anywhere at a specific time. Then add typical spring/April weather with little sun and long stretches of rain—that is exactly what lies behind me. So I decided to spend it sewing.
I finished the top and basted the quilt sandwich of my New York Beauty Medallion quilt. The last border consists of appliquéd leaves. One of many patterns I like a lot and always wanted to try out. There.
The four corner blocks had to be something different yet, I thought. So I took from the shelf my Farmer’s Wife book again and leafed through it until I came upon the Gentleman’s Fancy block. Perfect.
I haven’t got a picture of the completed quilt top. Only from the basted back. I will make up for that once I have quilted it.
